Back from our Summer break and the biggest change of our 18 year chapter run, we are happy to announce that we have a new partnership with That’s Amore restaurant in Rockville, Maryland. We are excited to showcase their Banquet space within their restaurant that will be housing our Chapter Meetings for the remainder of 2022.
Presentation Abstract:
Citizen Development has been a buzzword for the last few years within the Information Technology (IT) industry. The act of empowering your non-IT stakeholders who possess the process knowledge needed and are open to learning to assist with the development of business process automation is new to the way we look at our scope requirements. What does this have to do with Project Management you ask? PMI Global since 2020 has been evolving to how work is being done today in 2022 and have not only embraced Citizen Development but also have been the first to apply a formal certification and learning path. Join us as Chapter Vice President of Membership Mr. Matt Lowy (Currently holds Micro-Credential from PMI for Citiz. Development) as he shares his own journey as a Citizen Developer through his role in the Federal Government and how PMI’s framework allows for organizations to better manage and strategically lead their efforts

- How you can work within Salesforce, ServiceNow, Outsystems as an Entry Level Citizen Developer
Presenter Bio:
With 20+ years of experience in Government IT serving the Department of Defense, Department of Homeland Security and the Environmental Protection Agency, Mr. Lowy has gained many perspectives on how project management has progressed thus far in the 21st century. Mr. Lowy has climbed the ranks of Project Management in the IT sector since 2001 when he was on Active Duty in the Marine Corps. With his current journey of serving as a Portfolio Manager for the Air Force’s Digital Transformation, Mr. Lowy’s venture into modernized platforms and modernized and disclipined agile practices has been a great transition point for his career of which he has continues his lifelong learning commitment adding to his three degrees and eight active industry certifications. Within the Software as a Service (SaaS) space, Mr. Lowy has over 150+ Cloud Education & Training modules and projects completed Mr. Lowy has served as a Chapter Board Member since 2015 and is committed to the growth of project management in terms of knowledge and industry reputation.
