Topic: “The Servant Leader’s Search for Truth”
PDU: 1.0 – Leadership
Presenter: Mr. Joe Launi, PMP (Founder & CEO Of Project Management Experts (PME) )
Presentation Abstract:  Servant Leadership is a mindset that the leader’s role is primarily to serve others in their collective search for success.  James W. Sipe and Don M. Frick in their book ‘Seven
Pillars of Servant Leadership; Practicing the Wisdom of Leading by Serving‘ state that servant leaders must be:
  • People of character
  • Put people first
  • Be skilled communicators
  • Be compassionate collaborators
  • Have & display foresight
  • Be systems thinkers
  • Lead with moral authority

The servant leader must also pursue truth in an impartial and unbiased way.  Finding truth is often a real challenge.

In this session we as the PMI Montgomery County MD Chapter will explore the difference between truth, perception and deception as it relates to servant leadership and the challenges leaders have in identifying and support truth first as they make difficult decisions on their projects.
