PDU: 1.0 – Strategic & Business Mgmt
Meeting Presentation File: PMI-3-1-22
Presenters: Ms. Adrienne Somerville (MS) & Mr. Michael Taylor (MBA)
Presentation Abstract: Today, talent management is often represented by individual leaders inconsistently attempting to perform workforce planning by, for example, identifying work requirements, analyzing the existing workforce, equating skills gaps to staffing gaps, or relying on adding new resources to rectify workforce weaknesses. These efforts are ineffectual, often lacking any consistent standards or a cohesive long-term talent management strategy. For years, we have seen in the value, mission, and vision statements of many organizations the words “people first.”
Yet when you have a conversation with the average employee, he or she often does not feel as if he or she is first at all. Today, Mr. Michael Taylor and Ms. Adrienne Somerville will offer the establishment of a new standard of ensuring employees, at all levels, know they represent the organization’s most valuable resource: its talent! In essence, people are the bedrock of all organizations, upon which talent management and all other company enablers rests. Mr. Taylor and Ms. Somerville will share the top talent management concepts, and encourage
participants like you to take the necessary action to spearhead your professional talent management initiative for your individual gain, while promoting talent management
throughout your company for its organizational gain.Lastly, Michael and Adrienne will also convey the need to not only understand talent
management but the data and its organizational value. They will ensure PMI MC Chapter
participants understand the importance of collecting data about their workforce, as it is the foundation regarding the knowledge, skills and abilities of workforce members. Whether this is your first talent management event or you are a seasoned talent management professional, you will find keys to help you design, develop, and deploy a rewarding and successful talent management career and/or program.
