Topic: “Digital Transformation in the Federal Government”
Presenter: Mr. Matt Lowy (PMP, PMI-SP, CSM)
Presenter Bio: With 19 years of experience in Government IT serving the Department of Defense, Department of Homeland Security and the Environmental Protection Agency, Mr. Lowy has gained many perspectives on how project management has progressed thus far in the 21st century. Mr. Lowy has climbed the ranks of Project Management in the IT sector since 2001 when he was on Active Duty in the Marine Corps. With his current journey of serving as a Portfolio Manager for the Air Force’s Digital Transformation, Mr. Lowy’s venture into modernized platforms and modernized and disclipined agile practices has been a great transition point for his career of which he has continues his lifelong learning commitment adding to his three degrees and eight active industry certifications. Mr. Lowy has served as a Chapter Board Member since 2015 and is committed to the growth of project management in terms of knowledge and industry reputation.
Presentation Abstract:
Even prior to the Covid-19 impact on the Federal Government which has brought Microsoft Teams, Office 365 and ZoomGov among others to the forefront daily practices of the Federal Government, digital transformations were starting to occur benchmarking from the private /commercial sector’s success. Enterprise Resource Planning paired with Modernized Enterprise Platforms have changed the game, 21st century government employees are entering the public sector with ambitions to impact change and make the country and the world a better place. Join Mr. Lowy as he draws on his own experience and current efforts in the digital transformation within DoD as well as his research on other agencies and the great strides they have made in recent years to ensure work is done smartly as well as aggressively.

NOTICE: The cost for dinner is FREE for PMI Montgomery County, MD Chapter members and $40 for non-members & guests. The cost of the dinner will be the same regardless if you pay in advance online or in person at the door.
Please make your online reservation no later than 5:00 PM Monday, August 31st 2020 as the registration system will be taken offline at that point in order to prepare for the 9/2/20 meeting.
