Topic: “PMI Chapter Leadership: The Gift that keeps on Giving”

Presenter: Mr. Mark Levin (CAE, CSP)

Presenter Bio:

For over 25 years Mark has been recognized globally as one of the leading speakers and consultants on topics related to the development of both personal and interpersonal skills, as well as building productive teams in the workplace (and in the voluntary sector). He is especially noted for his ability to help others deal effectively in group settings and when working with people with varying work styles.

Mark’s clients include such groups as the National Education Association, the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, the American Medical Association, Rotary International, and hundreds of other private and not-for-profit organizations.

Mark’s award-winning book, “The Gift of Leadership”, has been a hit on five continents, and is in its ninth printing. It was also selected as required reading for selected leadership programs at Penn State University.

Mark is one of the only practicing association executives to have earned both the CAE (Certified Association Executive) and CSP (Certified Speaking Professional) designations.

A graduate of the University of Maryland, Mark served on the faculty of the U.S. Chamber’s Institute for Organization Management for 15 years, and currently serves as Executive Vice President of the Chain Link Fence Manufacturers Institute and as Executive Director of the Montgomery Blair Alumni Association.

Presentation Abstract:

When that proverbial “call for PMI Chapter volunteers” goes out, what’s your reaction?

  1. Waaay too busy!
  2. I know they don’t mean me
  3. I just don’t see me doing that
  4. I’m involved in too many other organizations

The reason so many of us respond this way is because we see leadership as an additional burden on our already-limited time.

What we forget is that leadership can also be a Gift!

During this interactive program, Mark Levin, CAE, CSP will reinforce for you the many values of Chapter involvement. These include:

-gaining new skills in a new environment

-finding ways to get others to step forward and join the PMI leadership team

-enhancing the membership experience for everyone

Mark has delighted and inspired PMI leaders at the Chapter, Region, and International level over the past two decades. His other clients include the Associated General Contractors, the American Institute of Architects, and the American Society of Civil Engineers, as well as hundreds of other professional organizations and trade associations.

NOTICE: The cost for dinner is FREE for PMI Montgomery County, MD Chapter members and $40 for non-members & guests. The cost of the dinner will be the same regardless if you pay in advance online or in person at the door.

Please make your online reservation no later than 5:00 PM Monday, October 5th 2020 as the registration system will be taken offline at that point in order to prepare for the 10/7/20 meeting.
