SUMMARY:March 2022 PMI-MC Monthly Chapter Event
DESCRIPTION:PMI-Montgomery County MD Chapter March 2022 Monthly Evening Event\nWednesday\,  March 2nd 2022\n\n\nIn-Person Member Dinner Price: $10.00\nIn-Person  Non-Member Dinner Price: $40.00\nVirtual Member  / Non Member Price: $0.00\n\n\nTopic: TALENT MANAGEMENT: UNLEASHING YOUR FULL POTENTIAL\nPDU: 1.0 – Strategic & Business Mgmt\nMeeting Presentation File: PMI-3-1-22\n\nPresenters: Ms. Adrienne Somerville (MS) & Mr. Michael Taylor (MBA)\n\nPresentation Abstract: Today\, talent management is often represented by individual leaders inconsistently attempting to perform workforce planning by\, for example\, identifying work requirements\, analyzing the existing workforce\, equating skills gaps to staffing gaps\, or relying on adding new resources to rectify workforce weaknesses. These efforts are ineffectual\, often lacking any consistent standards or a cohesive long-term talent management strategy. For years\, we have seen in the value\, mission\, and vision statements of many organizations the words “people first.”\n\nYet when you have a conversation with the average employee\, he or she often does not feel as if he or she is first at all. Today\, Mr. Michael Taylor and Ms. Adrienne Somerville will offer the establishment of a new standard of ensuring employees\, at all levels\, know they represent the organization’s most valuable resource: its talent! In essence\, people are the bedrock of all organizations\, upon which talent management and all other company enablers rests. Mr. Taylor and Ms. Somerville will share the top talent management concepts\, and encourage\nparticipants like you to take the necessary action to spearhead your professional talent management initiative for your individual gain\, while promoting talent management\nthroughout your company for its organizational gain.Lastly\, Michael and Adrienne will also convey the need to not only understand talent\nmanagement but the data and its organizational value. They will ensure PMI MC Chapter\nparticipants understand the importance of collecting data about their workforce\, as it is the foundation regarding the knowledge\, skills and abilities of workforce members. Whether this is your first talent management event or you are a seasoned talent management professional\, you will find keys to help you design\, develop\, and deploy a rewarding and successful talent management career and/or program.\n\nPresenters Bio:  \nMs. Adrienne Somerville: As NAVAIR’s first Talent Management Program Manager\, Adrienne designed\, developed and deployed the integrated approach to workforce skills planning and management: increasing flexibility and agility to Department of Defense\, Navy and NAVAIR requirements; nationally synchronizing a variety of functional and organizational skill efforts; and providing the total workforce a clear\, consistent skill-based career roadmap and\ndevelopmental framework that identified skill gaps and better utilized desired skills to target training resources and meet program requirements.\n\nAdditionally\, Adrienne has over 13+ years expertise in Talent Management and Leadership Development that stems from her Navy career and continues now simultaneously with her own consulting groups\, Talent & Technical Solutions Corporation (TTSC) and Somerville Consulting Group LLC (SCG)\, where Adrienne serves as the CEO of both companies.\n\nMs. Somerville is an Amazon International Best Selling Author of Wingspan (her debuting talent management book)\, accolades include being named the 2021 Project Opportunity Pitch Competition winner\, Career Communications Women of Color 2020 President’s Award winner and the Career Communications Women of Color 2011 Managerial Award winner.\n\nMr. Michael Taylor:\nMichael currently cultivates a high performing workforce by designing and delivering relevant and innovative development programs that engage individuals and teams at all levels of the organization. Michael has more than 20 years of professional experience in\, change management\, mentorship\, organizational development\, and strategic planning working in the federal government sector. Some of these behaviors have been identified as Success Mindsets – perspective\, passion\, purpose – and Success Accelerators – preparation\, positivity and perseverance. This session highlights how project managers can harness these for their own and their team’s success.\n\n\n\n\nWhat makes some people more successful than others? Can it be something as simple as having a different mindset? Three success mindsets will be highlighted in this session. Real examples of the mindsets of perspective\, passion and purpose contributing to success will be provided. This interactive session will encourage audience members to measure their own mindsets and will show the direct link to their success as project managers. Successful individuals also tend to utilize the success accelerators of preparation\, positivity and perseverance. Real examples of successful individuals utilizing these items will be provided along with activities for audience members to strengthen their own accelerators. How these accelerators can directly contribute to the role of a project manager will also be outlined. Additionally\, audience members will be challenged to extend the concept of Success Mindsets and Success Accelerators to their project team members to help contribute to project success. Participants will leave armed with tools to empower their whole project team. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nLocation: Normandie Farm\, 10710 Falls Road\, Potomac MD 20854 \nSCHEDULE OF EVENTS\nSocial hour starts @ 5:00 pm\nProject Showcase starts @ 5:30 pm\nDinner Service begins @ 6:30pm \nChapter Business Remarks @ 7:30pm \n\nMs.  Bah’s Presentation – 7:50pm \nProgram concludes @ 9:00pm\nDINNER MENU \n1 – Chicken Piccata with Capers\, Citrus Drizzle \n2 – Vegetable Lasagna with Portobello Mushrooms\, Marinara \n3 –  Filet of Sole Sautéed with Capers and Almonds\, Citrus Drizzle  \n4 – Special Request \nDinner also includes: \n\nLobster Bisque\nCarrots and Mashed Potatoes (for entrees 1 and 3)\nHot Lava Brownie with Pistachio Gelato for dessert\n\n\nNOTICE: The holiday special  cost for dinner is $10 for PMI Montgomery County\, MD Chapter members and $40 for non-members & guests. Stories.  Sadly most of us go through life without any real coaching in storytelling.  No one lets us know how to do it well\, briefly\, and powerfully.   In this powerful presentation\, Carl Pritchard not only shares how to tell stories more effectively\, but also where to find the stories that will truly hit home. \nLocation: Normandie Farm\, 10710 Falls Road\, Potomac MD 20854 \nSCHEDULE OF EVENTS\nSocial hour starts @ 5:00 pm\nDinner Service begins upon each diner’s arrival starting @ 5:30pm\nElection Speeches/Opening Remarks @ 7:30pm\nMr. Pritchard’s Presentation @ 7:50pm\, concluding at 9:00pm \nMENU \n1 – Grilled Filet Mignon\, Sauce Béarnaise\n2 – Crab Cake Platter\, Sauce Béarnaise\n3 – Roasted Boneless Breast of Chicken\, Wild Mushroom Madeira\n4 – Penne Pasta with Roasted Vegetables and Garlic   \nDinner also includes: \nSpinach and Mushroom Salad\nGreen Beans and Baked Potato (for entrees 1\, 2 and 3)\nChocolate Mousse   \n\nNOTICE: The cost for dinner is free for valid PMI Montgomery County\, MD Chapter members and $40 for non-members & guests.
