SUMMARY:Author Talk: HBR Press Webinar Leading Through: Activating the Soul\, Heart\, and Mind of Leadership
DESCRIPTION:We are living through a profound transition from an old\, industrial era to a new one that is digital\, transparent\, and complex. The way we lead people needs to catch up with this reality. \nIn their new book\, Leading Through\, the former Dean of Harvard Business School Kim Clark\, his business school professor son\, Jonathan\, and management consultant daughter\, Erin articulate a new\, positive model of leadership. \nOn October 28 they will join us to explain why the old bureaucratic and hierarchical approach – one that involves wielding power over people – causes such waste and loss of human potential\, stifling innovation\, ultimately resulting in “organizational darkness.” \nThey will then lay out their new approach that enables and inspires power through people. This leadership mindset is one that consciously seeks to do good and to make things better; that cares for people\, helping them to thrive; and that mobilizes people to solve tough problems. These three elements\, our experts argue\, are the soul\, heart\, and mind of leadership\, and they represent a timely evolution in the world of work.
