March 7th, 2018 PMI Project Showcase

Wednesday, March 7th 5:40pm to 6:30pm

Topic: Oral Presentations for Federal Government Contracts

Mr. Matt Lowy (PMP, PMI-SP, CMQ-OE, CQA, CSM, ITIL v3, ITIL Practioner) – Chapter Vice President of Communications

Presentation Summary:
Federal Government clients are increasingly abandoning the old standard of a contract Request For Proposal (RFP)’s return of written documentation in place of either oral presentations or video presentations w/ a follow-up in person Q&A session. Although business development and capture management are often looked at by the professional sector as different trades, proper program and project management frameworks and disciplines increase competitive chances of proposal wins.

Fresh off a oral presentation federal bid, Mr. Lowy will take you through a few perspectives on why there is this shift from 100 page responses to the in-person exchange of information, how to properly craft your slides and speaker transitions as well as provide a sample decomposed project schedule w/ WBS on all the tasks and milestones that go into being fully prepared for an oral presentation.

Please consider joining us early for the monthly event and attend this important discussion. If you aren’t winning work, you don’t have projects to manage after all!
