Topic: "How to lead when you are not the leader”

Ms. Karen Synder

Co-Presenter Website:

Presentation Abstract: Just because you are not in charge doesn’t mean you can’t be a leader (worth 1 PDU – Leadership for Talent Triangle)

Many times, we are in positions of leadership without official titles.  We have responsibility for managing timelines, meeting deliverables, and managing budgets, yet we may not have the authority to make decisions, increase resources or define the scope of our projects.  How can project managers influence outcomes when they have limited authority?  In this interactive program, PMI members and guests will

*observe the difference between power and influence and when to use each
*practice impacting the behaviors of our colleagues and teams
*notice how key influencers "do it"
*create a short and easy action plan for increasing positivity and appreciation in your project teams
